Last month on May 10, 887 undergraduate and graduate Belk College of Business students received their degrees from UNC Charlotte, increasing our powerful alumni network to 32,035. We reached out to some of our recent graduates to gain insight into how the Belk College of Business impacted their experience at UNC Charlotte and their next steps now that they have obtained their degrees.
Economics, Public Health, and Chemistry Triple Major, Vidhya Balasubramanian ‘19 describes the Belk College of Business as, “a group of caring and informative professors, a myriad of different business opportunities here in the Charlotte area and beyond, and the chance to meet many like-minded and ambitious students.” Vidhya says she chose the Belk College for its vast number of opportunities within the Charlotte community and beyond.
Now that Vidhya has graduated, she will be continuing her education at Chapel Hill Medical School. She thanks UNC Charlotte for four of the best years of her life, and she is proud to be a Niner alumna!
Bobbi Jo Conigliaro, CPM, ‘19 recently graduated with her Master of Science in Real Estate. Bobbi Jo knew that she needed to hone her financial analysis skills and deepen her understanding of the overall investment process if she wanted to advance her career beyond property management. When asked why she chose the Belk College and the MSRE program, this is what she had to say: “I knew the program content would be instantly transferable and improve my ability to add value for both my clients and teammates. The convenience of the location and flexibility to work the program in my own time was also essential since I was pregnant at the time I enrolled.”
Marketing Graduate Jeremiah Canty recalls his “Belk College Moment” as when he was in his first marketing class and realized that he had definitely chosen the right major. He said it stood out from all the other classes he had ever taken and woke up every day excited and ready for class. He describes the Belk College as, “a place that has produced two Fortune 500 company CEOs thus far, which puts us with or above the top schools around the country at half the price.”
Jeremiah now has plans to finish the Early Entry Data Science and Business Analytics graduate program at UNC Charlotte.
